The Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TXCPA) administers the Peer Review Program in Texas on behalf of AICPA and the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy. A peer review is a periodic external review of a firm’s quality control system in accounting and auditing and is also known as the practice monitoring program. The goal of practice monitoring, and the program itself, is to promote and enhance quality in the accounting and auditing services provided by the CPA firms (and individuals) subject to these standards. The program is designed to be educational for firms in public accounting to further enhance the quality in their performance of accounting and auditing work.
